When to Book — Peak Dates in Oakville

Every year the same weeks fill first. Because we deliberately keep the group at 2–3 dogs (that's what makes the care actually good), we can't squeeze in "one more" when the holidays hit. Here's a realistic booking guide:

🎄

Christmas & New Year's (Dec 20 – Jan 2)

The busiest stretch of the year, every year. Book 6–8 weeks ahead — ideally by early November.

🦃

Thanksgiving long weekend (October)

A short, sharp crunch. Book 3–4 weeks ahead.

⛷️

March Break

Family trip season across Oakville. Book by mid-February.

☀️

Summer vacations (July & August)

Longer stays are common, so weeks disappear in chunks. Book 4+ weeks ahead — earlier for multi-week trips.

🍁

Long weekends (Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day)

Book 2–3 weeks ahead to be safe.

What a Holiday Stay Looks Like

The holidays don't change how your dog is cared for — they get the same cage-free home stay as any other week. Walks (GPS-tracked, so you can see the route), yard time, their own food and feeding schedule, and evenings on the couch with the family. New dogs do a free meet & greet before the first stay, so by drop-off day the house already smells familiar.

While you're away, the app keeps you connected: daily photos, live walk tracking, and a digital report card for the stay. Owners tell us this is the difference between spending Christmas dinner worrying and spending it actually enjoying the trip.

Holiday Boarding — Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book holiday boarding?+
For Christmas and New Year's, 6–8 weeks ahead is safest. For Thanksgiving, March Break, and summer long weekends, aim for 3–4 weeks. Because we only take 2–3 dogs at a time, holiday dates genuinely do sell out — the small group is the whole point.
Do you charge extra on holidays?+
No holiday surcharge. Boarding is $85 per night year-round, and $75 per night for each additional dog from the same family.
Can you board my dog over Christmas Day itself?+
Yes — dogs stay through the holiday just like any other day, with walks, yard time, and plenty of attention. You'll still get your daily photo updates while you're with family.
What if my flight home is delayed?+
It happens, especially with winter travel. Just message us — if the following night is available we'll extend the stay at the regular nightly rate. We'd never leave you stuck.
Does my dog need a meet & greet before a holiday stay?+
Yes, every new dog does — it's free and takes about 15–20 minutes. Book it well before the holiday rush so your dates are locked in and your dog already knows the house.
Will my dog get updates while I'm away for the holidays?+
Every day. Photo updates through our app, live GPS-tracked walks, and a digital report card. You can check in on your pup from the airport, the cottage, or grandma's dinner table.
